Individual Therapy

Deep down, we might have a good idea of who we long to be. However, our fears, avoidances and stressors, can be consuming the best of us.

IS IT TIME TO COME BACK HOME?

Therapy is about re-establishing the relationship between your body and your mind.

Empowering You To Take That Next Step

You are worth it!!

If you are here, there is a chance that life is not going the way you hoped for. Uncomfortable feelings and physical sensations could be creating a wall between you and your personal and/or professional goals. Or perhaps something profound happened in your life and is now interfering with your daily functionality. Sometimes it seems that life is falling apart and, to even think that you can overcome those challenges and finally feel good, seems impossible, right? Here is the thing, you don’t have to do this alone. Working on that pain or perhaps understanding your emotions is not an easy job and I admire your courage!

Whatever is happening to you, I understand that working on that pain, trying to understand your emotions and learn how to regulate them, is not an easy job! However, you don’t need to deal with that alone.

Individual Therapy

Therapy is mainly about relationship and emotions. Wounds are healed not with knowledge but with relationship. We need to be heard ideally, in a non-judgemental place.

I offer a caring, non-judgemental, trustable environment, and the belief that healing starts with willingness. Together we will explore the nuances of your life which might include talking about your pain and suffering, your challenges and hopes.

Treatment Approach

Biofeedback (Coming Soon)
Cognitive Behavioural (CBT)
Cognitive-behavioral therapy stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. The therapist assists the client in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying his or her thinking. The therapist then helps the client modify those thoughts and the behaviors that flow from them. CBT is a structured collaboration between therapist and client and often calls for homework assignments. CBT has been clinically proven to help clients in a relatively short amount of time with a wide range of disorders, including depression and anxiety.
Mindfulness-Based (MBCT)
For clients with chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and other health issues such as anxiety and depression, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, or MBCT, is a two-part therapy that aims to reduce stress, manage pain, and embrace the freedom to respond to situations by choice. MCBT blends two disciplines–cognitive therapy and mindfulness. Mindfulness helps by reflecting on moments and thoughts without passing judgment. MBCT clients pay close attention to their feelings to reach an objective mindset, thus viewing and combating life’s unpleasant occurrences.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a method of therapy that works to engage the motivation of clients to change their behavior. Clients are encouraged to explore and confront their ambivalence. Therapists attempt to influence their clients to consider making changes, rather than non-directively explore themselves. Motivational Interviewing is frequently used in cases of problem drinking or mild addictions.
Multicultural
Multicultural awareness is an understanding and sensitivity of the values, experiences, and lifestyles of minority groups. Differences in race, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, are all tackled by Multicultural counselling. In the counselling setting, the counsellor recognizes that the client is different from the counsellor and treats the client without forcing the client to be like him or her.
Person-Centered
Person-centreed therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions. The therapist acts as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgment and acknowledging the client’s experience without moving the conversation in another direction. The therapist is there to encourage and support the client and to guide the therapeutic process without interrupting or interfering with the client’s process of self-discovery.

About Me

You are warmly welcomed here!

Hi! My name is Daniela and, although it is likely you might be in some kind of emotional pain right now, I am glad you are here. It takes courage to seek help.

Looking back, I remember many times in my life when I got paralyzed by anxiety. Memories that can be retrieved from as early as my childhood. Fear to sleep away from my parents, constantly cold/sweat hands and feet, excessive nausea on important days like first days of school, uncomfortable physical symptoms that no doctor could diagnose. Strong feelings that, for times, unable me to enjoy life.

Our journey is full of bumps, but worthwhile. We are all so unique with our life stories and I would be honoured to hear yours.
